No. 24 Saìvat 434 Òisòuêga

The village of Tistung on Tribhuvan Highway, about 20 miles south west of Kathmandu, is approached after passing through the Khani Khola (rivulet) and then a stiff climb and descent. The stone lies in a lawn of a primary school. The date is 434 but the month and day symbols are worn away. The stone is damaged in the lower portion. The top shows in relief a discus (chakra) flanked by two conches (ùankhas). The inscribed part is 28.5 cm long and 29 cm wide. H. Sakya has published the text with a wrong reading (Abhi-lekha Prakàùa, p. 7), which DV claims to have corrected. (R).
