No. 47. Kanheri Buddhist cave inscription. Prakrit.
The inscription of two lines is on the back of a bench on the north sìde of the nulla opposite cave No.7. At present, the letters of the inscription are illegible. It measures 74 cm. x 47 cm. Letters 5 cm. x 6 cm. Characters: Bràhmè, 2nd Century A.D. Language: Prakrit. Orthography: It appears that there is no distinction between 'ta' and 'na'.(ShG) |
