52. Arvalem. Arvalem, Goa. EI., XXXVII (missed reference ?) and JESI, VII (M.N. Katti) Go, 175-177(49). Fragmentary epigraph is found engraved on a pillar set up as a Ùivaliêga in a shrine in Cave No. 3 near Arvalem in Goa. The pillar has a circular top and is octagonal in shape. On each of the seven narrow surfaces in between the base of the circular top and the octagonal stem of the pillar has one line been written after placing down the pillar horizontally, as in the case of the Guänàpura inscription (No. 26 above), and thereafter the pillar erected vertically. The eighth surface is blank. The pillar appears to have been later converted into a liêga when the base of the pillar was cut and the pillar shaped in the present form (Gopal).
