This inscription is engraved on a stone pedestal in the site of long rows of pillars of a mandapa on the band of the river Krishna, in the north-east corner of the Nagarjunakonda, now kept in the Museum.

L 1. Earlies Dr. Subrahmanyam took at to be 9 (ct. I. A. R, 1958-59,p. 8) however, Dr. Sircar, converted it to 30 m the assunation that the muubra sesembles. The letter "le" (E. IXXXIV-19 p.). But the plates indicate no such letter. It is a compressed tirm of the numoral '20' the too horizontal line out the risht vertical line make a sight auple and the letter is obosed from all sides, so as rather to resemble the letter "ba" with the lost are notched. It can also be lidered. supertieially to bulged torms of "tha" (it Dari, 283). The form agrees with many Variants of the numeral 20 (is In, 27-28, no 3, 2, 3, 5 and 14; ala Buhler, indische palaeograplic, pt IX, col. 13; G. H. Ojha, Bharatiya praehinalipimala, pt. L XII, col. 4, 9; Ep. lud XXI, 82, or XXXIII, 295, line II. We may be permitted to draw the readers attention to the Chinnahanjam inscription of Gotamiputra Yajna Satakarmi, were the mummeds 20 or 7 at giver-cf. Jour, of Indian history, XLIII, 242, pt, line 3 (Jih) 1. K. sarma reads this as 20 year in Indica, Vol. VII, 1 p. 5

L 5. Dr. Sircar read it as "yo (yes) ca", but we take it to be yasa the nominative singular of yetad. The visarga, when to by a conspant in the scutence, is dropped, hev the phrase reads 'Yeøa bràhmaía'. Verse in upajati, metre
